A warm, welcoming B&B, situated on the North-East coast, in the heart of the Northumbrian countryside.

Why should you stay with us?

Our red brick farmhouse-style B&B is situated on the edge of a working farm, overlooking the Kyloe hills and enjoying spectacular views across the North Sea to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne and the Farne Islands. We have 3 rooms available - an inviting king-size four poster overlooking the islands and castle; a spacious room with a king-size bed, also overlooking the islands and countryside; and a small double also providing views out to Holy Island and castle. All rooms can access free Wi-Fi internet and contain a freeview TV, hairdryer and tea-tray, allowing you to relax comfortably in your room whilst enjoying the views. There is a separate 3-piece bathroom along with an additional, separate toilet. Downstairs, there is a guest lounge/diner and patio doors that lead outside to a small seating area. In the Summer, you are welcome to enjoy the sunset outside - perhaps with a glass of wine! We have a large private drive, providing ample parking, or if you're on a cycling holiday, we can provide undercover storage space.

Welcome

Why should you stay in this area?

South Buckton lies next to the A1 in picturesque North Northumberland. We are located between Newcastle and Edinburgh, both of which are just an hour's drive away, along the A1. Our nearest village is Belford and we are a fifteen minute drive from the village of Bamburgh, the home of Grace Darling, some of the best beaches in the UK, and a medieval castle. A few miles from Bamburgh lies Seahouses, a fishing village where boats depart regularly to tour the Farne Islands. We are also only a 15 minute drive to the causeway of Holy Island (Lindisfarne), where pilgrims come to see the home of the Lindisfarne Gospels and St. Cuthbert, and tourists come to soak up the charm and beauty. We also lie between the market towns of Berwick and Alnwick, both of which have their own unique attractions - Berwick for being the Border town that changed hands between England and Scotland many times; and Alnwick for its gardens (and treehouse) and Alnwick Castle - not only the home of the Duke of Northumberland, but one of the locations used for the filming of Harry Potter. For more details of these and other popular destinations near us, please see our about the area page.
